How do I chat in a Nurph Channel?
Simply type the Channel you want to join and chat. Bear in mind that the Twitter username that matches the Channel name can "block" you on Twitter and this will prevent you from chatting in the associated Channel.
What are the privacy settings?
Nurph Channels are for real-time Twitter chatter. Anyone with a Twitter account can join or follow the conversation depending on the relationship they have with the Twitter Profile associated with the Nurph Channel (you can read more about this convention in How do I chat in a Nurph Channel?). However, we are in public beta testing and we're open to suggestions on the rules around "who can chat" in a Nurph Channel. Cast your vote right here:
Should I share private information on Nurph?
Do not share information which you consider private or sensitive. Nurph is Twitter chat rooms that are accessible to anyone depending on their relationship with the channel owner. If you want to share private or sensitive information, please use Twitter DMs.
What is Auto-Complete?
Every Twitterer has a unique username, for example @LadyGaga. If you are chatting in a Nurph Channel, you can quickly tag another Twitterer in one of your remarks by typing the @ symbol and the first letter (or more) of the Twitterers name. Nurph will figure out who you want to tag from within the Channel and highlight their name in a menu for you, and by pressing the TAB key on your keyboard, Nurph will type out their entire username within your message. How do I update the design of my Nurph Channel?
As we've already mentioned, Nurph Channels are twinned with Twitter Profiles. To make the most of this relationship, Nurph uses the design that you've already carefully crafted for your Twitter Profile and applies it straight to your Nurph Channel. For example: #Nurph will inherit the profile design from @Nurph. This means that if you want to customize your Nurph Channel, you should head over to @Twitter and change your design there.
Once you've changed your Twitter Profile design, you can tell Nurph to 'synchronize' your Nurph Channel design with your new Twitter Profile design. Just visit your Nurph Channel and click the "Synchronize Design" button from the menu.
